Types of support and assistance ChatGPT can offer

PROMPT is pretty focused on the kinds of jobs that ChatGPT can help you to do. But there are a number of underlying types of support or assistance that ChatGPT can offer no matter what job you're trying to do and in what industry you're working in.

We're compiling a master list for a future update, but here's where we're at so far. 

  • Advice: Suggestions and recommendations.
  • Brainstorming: Ideas and solutions to a problem or question.
  • Challenge: Critical thinking / questioning of ideas and arguments.
  • Clarification: Further explanation or detail.
  • Conflict resolution: Helping to resolve conflicts / disagreements.
  • Creative thinking: Encouraging you to think outside the box.
  • Editing: Improving structure, flow, clarity, and quality.
  • Elaboration: Expanding on an idea or concept in more detail.
  • Empathy: Sharing feelings and experiences of others.
  • Empowerment: Helping with skills, confidence, and resilience.
  • Expansion: Additional ideas, perspectives, or possibilities.
  • Explaining: Increasing understanding of a topic or concept.
  • Fact-checking: Verifying the accuracy and reliability of info.
    (Although you then need to fact check everything it says!)
  • Feedback: Constructive criticism or suggestions.
  • Finding patterns: Identifying similarities, trends, or connections.
  • Goal setting: Clear and achievable goals.
  • Inspiration: Ideas, motivation or encouragement.
  • Motivation: Support, encouragement, and guidance.
  • Planning: Thinking through and writing a plan.
  • Problem-solving: Identify, analyze, and develop solutions.
  • Proofreading: Correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation etc.
  • Re-writing: Improving style, structure, content, and overall quality.
  • Researching: Info on a particular topic.
  • Strategizing: Developing a long-term plan or approach.
  • Summarizing: Condensing info into an overview or summary.
  • Teaching: Instruction and guidance.
  • Time management: Helping to plan, prioritize, and manage time.
  • Writing: Putting thoughts and ideas into written form.
